Case study · CTSL
From Mayaro beginnings to three decades of energy-sector IT support
CTSL’s experience supporting Amoco Trinidad Oil Company and bpTT
CTSL began in Mayaro in 1994 as a small IT business providing computer sales, training and repairs.
A defining opportunity followed in December 1995, when the company signed its first business contract with Amoco Trinidad Oil Company. Services began on 2 January 1996. The initial three-month contract covered 400 Dell computers across Galeota, Port of Spain and offshore locations.
Supporting customers across offices and offshore operations helped shape CTSL’s development into a managed services provider. As customer requirements evolved, the company expanded into structured help desk services, network engineering and data centre support.
In 1998, Amoco recognised CTSL with an IT Innovation Award for its Help Desk Model.
Thirty years after that first assignment, CTSL continues to support bpTT operations. That experience informs how the company serves large businesses, SMEs, industrial facilities and offshore customers today.
